The “Greatest Generation” is a generation that stood by each other in times that were the worst of the worst.  They came together to fight an evil like the world had never seen and when it was all over they came home and built our country into the place it is today.  Without these amazing heroes we wouldn’t enjoy the freedom and opportunity that only exists in the United States.

Having the opportunity to be at Pearl Harbor during the 73rd anniversary of the attack that changed the lives of generations of Americans was one of the most amazing experiences of my life.  There really aren’t words that can explain the feelings I had being in the presence of these selfless men and women.  They were people who refused to give up, refused to be bullied and stood up for the values they believed in.  They are the Greatest Generation and they have earned every bit of that name.

Standing over the wreckage of the Arizona watching it’s slowly leaking oil spread out of the harbor was a powerful reminder that these tragic events are still very recent history and that the brave men and women we lost that day are still having a very profound impact on our society.

I have spent nearly 10 years of my life as a member of the Armed Forces and I feel extremely proud to wear the same uniform and fight for the same freedom as the men and women who fought and died in Pearl Harbor.  They set a great example of what true selfless service really is.  An example that I hope and pray my generation can continue.Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and PatienceAll images were taken with a Hasselblad 500cm on Kodak Portra 400NC.  Development and scanning was done by The FIND Lab.

What a week!  We had some amazing things happen and some heartbreaking things happen but there’s no way we will let the negatives outweigh the positives!

We accomplished something we’ve had as one of our biggest goals this week.  One of the amazing weddings we’ve had the honor of photographing was featured on one of our favorite wedding blogs, Green Wedding Shoes!  We’d love it if you would take a moment to go check it out by clicking on the Green Wedding Shoes badge below.

On the same exact day that Stevie and Chelsea’s wedding was featured on Green Wedding Shoes we also found out that the server our hosting company was using to host or website crashed and we lost our website along with all of our backups.  We will be working diligently with Brandon at Caava Design, the designers of our website, to try and restore all of the lost posts from the last year and a half.  Brandon has been so extremely helpful in getting our site back online and in helping us figure out a way to restore everything that was lost by the server crash at the hosting company!  That is some top notch customer service and we couldn’t be more happy to be working with them.

We really want to thank everyone for all of the encouragement and for their trust that we will capture their special moments!  We’re so happy to be doing what we do and know it wouldn’t be possible without all of the amazing support and love you have shown us!
