The “Greatest Generation” is a generation that stood by each other in times that were the worst of the worst.  They came together to fight an evil like the world had never seen and when it was all over they came home and built our country into the place it is today.  Without these amazing heroes we wouldn’t enjoy the freedom and opportunity that only exists in the United States.

Having the opportunity to be at Pearl Harbor during the 73rd anniversary of the attack that changed the lives of generations of Americans was one of the most amazing experiences of my life.  There really aren’t words that can explain the feelings I had being in the presence of these selfless men and women.  They were people who refused to give up, refused to be bullied and stood up for the values they believed in.  They are the Greatest Generation and they have earned every bit of that name.

Standing over the wreckage of the Arizona watching it’s slowly leaking oil spread out of the harbor was a powerful reminder that these tragic events are still very recent history and that the brave men and women we lost that day are still having a very profound impact on our society.

I have spent nearly 10 years of my life as a member of the Armed Forces and I feel extremely proud to wear the same uniform and fight for the same freedom as the men and women who fought and died in Pearl Harbor.  They set a great example of what true selfless service really is.  An example that I hope and pray my generation can continue.Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and Patience Pearl Harbor Hawaii Photographer Joe and PatienceAll images were taken with a Hasselblad 500cm on Kodak Portra 400NC.  Development and scanning was done by The FIND Lab.
